தமிழகத்தில் பூரண மதுவிலக்கு கொண்டு வர வேண்டும் என பல்வேறு தரப்பினர் வலியுறுத்தி வரும் நேரத்தில், மது விரும்பிகளின் மனநிலை குறித்து அறிய முற்பட்டது புதிய தலைமுறை. டாஸ்மாக் கடைகளை மூட வேண்டும் என்று பலரும், மது விற்பனை செய்யும் நேரத்தை குறைக்க வேண்டும் என சிலரும் கூறியுள்ளனர்.
பூரண மதுவிலக்கு குறித்து மது அருந்தாதவர்கள் சொல்லி வரும் கருத்துக்களைக் காட்டிலும், மது பழக்கத்திற்கு ஆட்பட்டவர்களின் கருத்து ஆழமானது .
குடிப்பழக்கம் அதிகமானதற்கு, அரசு நடத்தி வரும் டாஸ்மாக் கடைகளே காரணம் என கூறுகின்றனர் பல மது விரும்பிகள். மதுப்பழக்கத்திற்கு இளைஞர்கள் பெருமளவில் அடிமையாகி வருவதாகவும் அவர்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.
டாஸ்மாக் கடைகள் இயங்கும் நேரத்தை குறைக்க வேண்டும் என்று, குடிப்பழக்கத்திற்கு அடிமையான சிலர் யோசனை தெரிவித்துள்ளனர். மதுபானம் அனைவருக்கும் எளிதில் கிடைத்து விடுவதால் தான் குடிப்பழக்கம் அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டே செல்வதாகவும் அவர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர்.
முழுமையான மதுவிலக்கு கோரி, தற்போது அரங்கேறி வரும் விழிப்புணர்வு பேரணி, உண்ணாவிரதம் போன்றவை முன்பே நடைபெற்று இருந்தால், மதுவை அருந்தி இருக்க மாட்டோம் என்றும் சிலர் கூறுகின்றனர்.

Alcohol is still frowned upon in general in Tamil Nadu, and apart from five star hotels and places that serve beer illegally under the table (literally) there are very few places to get alcohol here. The only place to buy the stuff are state-controlled 'wine shops', often in backalleys with bars over the window where they will hand you your beer through the bars. These places are very sketchy though, often full of shady characters and very smelly. In addition, they only sell Indian liquors and there is no place in the state to buy imported beer or liquor. Because of this, there is quite a black market for imports in the state. I remember during my time in Chennai a common question expats would ask each other was "So, who's your bootlegger"? Kingfisher is clearly the beer of choice over here and it is delicious. However, even after having one at night, I'd wake up the next day with a headache and feeling awful. I asked around and found out that all beers made in India put in a preservative (ie poison) in them called glycerol. This is what give you the splitting headache the next day. However, the glycerol is heavier than the beer, so if you turn your beer upside down into a glass of water, the oily-looking glycerine will come out, leaving you with pure beer. You might loose about 2oz in the process but it'll be worth it the next day!

Can you name one corporate which remains unaffected by the global economic turmoil ? Yes, you are right! Its is TASMAC. Its is everywhere and not even its single branch has ever registered a loss. TASMAC's growth has been outstanding amidst all the outcry of almost all the sectors. Well there are reasons for it.
1. People drink regardless of whether they win or lose.
2. TASMAC is easily accessible. There are more branches than ICICI ATM.
3. Its open all the day and 364 days a year (Except Gandhi Jayanthi)
4. Some branches have speacial bars and you dont have to take the saraku home.
5. Many of the branches' bars render value added services like side dishes, ooruhas ...
6. You get to connect with people from all walks of life.
